Benefits of the Superoots Fielder
Produce healthier plants
Consistent root restriction and the subsequent development of more fibre within the rootball ensure that the quality of the Fielder root system is second to none.
Eliminate root circling
With a fabric base there is no root circling in the fielder. Other in ground systems use an impermeable base which encourages root circling and collects water which when stagnant can promote disease.
Simplify harvesting
Stock grown in Fielders simply pop out of the ground! One person will lift a 35L Fielder after 3 years in the ground, in less than a minute. Mechanically, it is easily feasible for three people to lift 750 or 800 trees in 60L Fielders in one day. This is not the case with root balling. To lift and prepare 150 trees would take three or four people and a very expensive machine all day.
Dramatically reduce transplant shock
The only shock to a Fielder grown tree is the breaking of the 3mm joint. Equally importantly, the parallel sided Fielder contains the great majority of the original root mass, up to 75%, depending on species. This is compared to the huge shock suffered when field grown stock have their roots severed by a tree spade, leaving as little as 35% of the root mass to be root balled and supplied to the client.
Extend harvesting season
Superoots Fielder grown trees are placed under much less stress when lifted than trees dug using any other system. Harvesting is possible for most of the year, but care must be taken with some species and a carefully monitored post-harvest handling system is important.
Lower production costs
Detailed cost comparisons show Superoots Fielder production to be significantly less than traditional rootball production.

Allow quicker and more successful establishment
Better Quality root systems and greatly reduced transplant shock in Superoots Fielder-produced trees, shrubs and conifers leads to rapid establishment and healthy growth.
Thriving plants mean happy clients and cheaper maintenance and replacement costs.
