Air-Pot® Grown
QUALITY, QUALITY, QUALITY! These growers have been the driving force behind the Caledonian Tree Company. We work with them to help improve the way they grow. They work with us to help us improve the product we supply them. It is enormously productive and fun – as like minds (or tree nuts) come together and work towards a common goal. What is even better is that the list is growing, as more nurseries come on board. Some of the best nurseries in the world are listed here and we know that you will find excellent stock and the best advice/service.
‘Air-Pot Grown’ nurseries tend to be growing on field grown stock in Air-Pot containers. Whatever their system, quality is key and Air-Pot containers form a corner stone of the nursery’s promotional activity.
A long-standing player of extensive experience in Air-Pot growing, Cherry Lake continues to challenge the system with new applications, in order constantly to improve the stock it brings to the market. Air-Pot containers cover the landscape as far as you can see on this progressive 300+ hectare nursery at Clermont, west
of Orlando in Florida.
It would be hard to find another nursery equally dedicated to R&D, and to the monitoring of its crop for quality. It has been our pleasure to work closely with Cherry Lake since 1996 - they have kept us on our toes and driven us in turn to improve the way we make our product.
Cherry Lake is the best nursery in Florida! Known in particular for Crape Myrtle, Magnolia and Live Oak, it also has an extensive species list available on its website.

Deepdale Trees has used Air-Pot containers exclusively since the launch of its ground-breaking container unit in 1996, which coincided with the first manufacture of the Air-Pot container in the UK. It was quick to realise the benefits of the air-pruning system for the supply of its stock to its landscape customers, who needed the best trees year-round on some of the most prestigious national landscape projects. The nursery has always worked closely with Caledonian Tree Company and has contributed to the continued improvement of the Air-Pot container.
The breadth of experience of the team drawn from all over Europe and America, as well as the UK makes for a nursery of international standing and renown.
In the last year, Deepdale has extended its unit to 20 hectares and this expansion continues into 2009. There are 14 000 trees, ranging in size from 14-16cm girth to 100-120cm girth and multi-stems up to 10m high.

Based in north eastern England, A Hill and Sons is an innovative and advanced nursery. Using Air-Pot containers, it offers superb quality products with fantastic root structures resulting in high success rates for its customers and their planting schemes. The nursery has a comprehensive range of varieties and sizes of trees and shrubs grown using the Air-Pot system which has become an integral part of A. Hill and Sons.
The nursery's policy is to supply high quality plants at competitive prices whilst providing customers with service of the highest standard.

Living Walls use Air-Pot containers wall to wall at their Hampshire based nursery where they produce a broad variety of multi-purpose hedging by the metre: everything from security hedging comprising thorny specimens to traditional formal yew, beech, hornbeam hedging and pretty rosemary. The maturity and quality of these plants and their quick establishment make for an impressive instant impact.

Majestic Trees, which was honoured by its peers with both the 'Nursery Stock' and the prestigious 'Ornamental Grower of the Year' in 2008, was set up in 2001 and used Air-Pot containers exclusively from the outset. It grows over 450 varieties of tree, from 12/14cm girth to over a meter girth, which it grows on in Air-Pot containers ranging from 50L to 5000L. The trees are wrapped in hessian and wire for dispatch, so that no waste arrives on site and they are ready to plant.
Majestic supplies trees for projects nationwide, and its location very close to the M25/M1 and Luton airport means that it is ideally placed to visit and ships by its own nursery transport nationwide. It is renown in the industry for its expert team of horticulturists who grow, advise and plant, and for having all the kit and equipment to offer a comprehensive 'supply and plant' service. Currently expanding its operation, the news from Majestic is extremely positive.
Congratulations to Majestic Trees whose excellent standards have been recognized with the following awards:
- Ornamental Grower of the Year 2008 and 2011
- Nursery Stock Grower of the Year 2008 and 2011
- Silver (2nd place) in the International Grower of the Year 2011 held in Xi'an, China
- Investors in People - Silver

Ghilotti nurseries, was established in 1991 to grow field plants continuing the family tradition of quality growing.
A few years ago, the nursery started using Air-Pot container growing techniques to diversify species and introduce new cultivars. A specially developed compost mix, PH control and fertigation, managed by a computer together with the use of Air-Pot containers has given the nursery the chance to grow new cultivars. These species are available alongside traditonal plants of the region. Air-Pot container grown plants for sale range from 9L (transplants and whips) to 80L (18-20 cm trees).
This flexibility of production enables Ghilotti to service a broad spectrum of clients offering including wholesalers, nursery to nursery and landscapers.

Romano Righetti has been growing trees in Tuscany for 150 years! Their experience is colossal, and their reputation stretches across Europe. But the nursery is not content to rest on its laurels. In order to remain a leader in the field Romano Righetti is constantly researching new production methods. It was one of the first Italian growers to adopt the Air-Pot system and now widely promotes its Air-Pot grown range. Production covers approximately 120 hectares. The range of sizes and species of trees and shrubs is extensive, the quality constant.

SANTA & COLE enjoys worldwide recognition in the field of urban and interior design, particularly respected for the rare standards of excellence in every aspect of their business, ranging from exquisite indoor and outdoor lamps to book publishing and now to trees!
The company has identified Air-Pot containers as the best way to produce trees for its landscape customers and has adopted the Air-Pot container as the exclusive method of production on their new, immaculate, state of the art nursery north of Barcelona. The Bavarian Center for Fruit Crops (Bayerisches Obstzentrum, BayOz) near Munich specialises in the breeding of new fruit varieties and rootstocks, and testing of all varieties both for nurseries and domestic gardeners. The combination of research, breeding and practical testing makes the Bavarian Center for Fruit Crops unique in Europe. A milestone in its success story was the breeding of the first red fleshed apple cultivar with high fruit quality. The variety was named 'Baya® Marisa' and released in 2009. In addition to the Malus and Pyrus, Dr. Michael Neumuller, the nursery director uses 5 Litre Air-Pot containers with great success for Cydonia, all sorts of Prunus, Rubus, Ribes and Vitis.
